  • Historically Black Colleges and Universities The quiz show features college students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Predominately Black Institutions, and Universities and Colleges with Black Studies Departments from around the country showcasing their knowledge and skills of African-American history and culture.
  • Scholarships & PrizesScholarships awarded in the range of $250 to $8,500.

Black College Quiz is hosted live in Atlanta, Georgia by Radio host, actor, comedian, producer, entrepreneur Thomas Miles, aka "Nephew Tommy".

Black College Quiz is produced in memory of the late Dr. Rosemary R. Jackson, who served as the Research Director and Associate Producer of the series.

In Honor of
Dr. Rosemary R. Jackson

Dr. Jackson’s lifelong passion was education, which she instilled in her family, especially her children and grandsons. Her daughter is a graduate of Syracuse University and her son graduated from the University of Minnesota. Through her tireless support and encouragement, her eldest grandson graduated from Morehouse College and her youngest grandson is a student at Baylor University. Dr. Jackson received a Bachelor’s Degree from Chicago State University, a Master’s Degree from National College of Education, a second Master’s Degree in English from DePaul University and her Ph.D. in Cultural and Educational Policy Studies from Loyola University.

The Department of Education data reveals African American students with a 4-year degree have incomes substantially higher than those that have not earned a degree. The major you choose will greatly determine your salary. Make a wise decision and choose a major that you're passionate about. The truth about African Americans attending college

Did you know?

Black Americans, in the United States, are among those most likely to earn a postsecondary degree. The National Center for Education Statistics reported that from the academic years 2000–2001 to 2015–2016, the number of bachelor's degrees awarded to Black students increased by 75% and the number of associate degrees earned by Black students increased by 110%. Black students are making headway in graduate education as well,for example, the numbers of Black students enrolled in master's degree programs nearly doubled between 1996 and 2016.
